Reflecting on my total wellness, if I had to rate my
physical well-being, spiritual
well-being, and psychological well-being on a scale of 1-10, (ten being optimal
well-being), it would be as follows: physical well-being - 7, spiritual well-being
- 9, and psychological well-being- 8. My physical well-being would 7 because, I suffer
from bone spurs and bulging disc in my lumbar spine and c-spine from my 21 year
military career. My spiritual well-being would be a 9, because I am still
growing but I have learned so much through reading and trying new things. My
religion helps me a great deal too with my spiritual. My psychological
well-being would be a 8, because I think psychologically I am healthy but there
is always room for improvement.
Setting goal for my physical well-being would be to
continue to move and engage in physical activities that will help alleviate
some of the pain I have from time to time. Take a yoga class. A goal for my
spiritual well-being is to meditate more and find more relaxation exercises. A goal
for my psychologically well-being is to control
my emotions when it comes to stress and thing I can’t control. I can also find some mind building health classes if any exists.
The Crime
of the Century
I am undecided
about this exercise. It was a little relaxing but it a little busy too. I would
have preferred more of a relaxing tone or music and concentrating on different
things. The narrators' tone was okay but I found myself trying to concentrate more
on the background tone than what I was told to do. It started off fine, but it’s
not what I would like.
It is good to see that you are in pretty good shape overall when it comes to the physical, spiritual and psychological. I myself need to improve on a few things but reading your blog reassures me that I can improve. I have a few medical issues from my 8 years of being in the Army and spiritually I am lost. I feel that way about my psychological sometimes but I generally handle stress pretty well, Your goals are similar to mine even though our levels of fitness are completely on different pages. I look forward to reading and commenting more on your blogs in the future.
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler,
DeleteThanks. What really helped me with my spiritual was going back to church. Sorry, about the military medical issues. I always say the military breaks us down but I'm not sorry I served. I found what helps me a great deal is stretching in the morning. I do a stretch routine each morning and I think it helps me manage pain levels that I have off and on. Wishing you better mind, body & spiritual healing.
I think you are on your way to optimal well-being but as they say there is always room for improvement. I believe you have a good handle on things and happy to see you are still working on yourself. I have a lot of room for improvement starting from my physical well-being all the way up to my spiritual well-being but I am making steps towards getting there. I also have a bulging disc that sometimes acts up and makes me miserable. Thanks for your thoughts and I hope to read more about your journey.
ReplyDeleteHi Salama,
DeleteThanks. I glad you are moving forward. Have you ever tried Yoga, that might help. I think what give me room for improvement is that I'm retired, so I have a great deal of time on my hand. I don't have those busy days I use to have. Yes,bulging are no joy and can be very painful. I wish you well on your journey.
